Types Of FASD
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) – Includes alcohol exposure, growth
deficiency, facial features and brain damage (Sandra G. Bernstein Clarren 2004
pg. 4)
Partial Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (pFAS) - Have some of the symptoms that FAS has which includes, some physical signs, learning disability and behaviour issues (Sandra G. Bernstein Clarren 2004 pg. 4) • Alcohol Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder (ARND) - Children with ANDR show no physical signs that FAS and pFAS do. They have learning disability, poor impulse control, poor social skills and judgment, also memory and attention difficulties (Sandra G. Bernstein Clarren 2004 pg. 4) Alcohol Related Birth Defects (ARBD) – Children with ARBD have more medical issues than kids with another form of FASD. For physical problems are heart, skeletal, vision, hearing, and motor skills (Sandra G. Bernstein Clarren 2004 pg. 4) |
